Treatments
All treatments are carried out in your home. Every visit starts with a check of your feet and a chat about any concerns.
Thickened nails
Painless reduction of thick or hard-to-cut nails so they're comfortable in shoes again.
Callus removal
Debridement of hard, built-up skin to relieve pressure and make walking more comfortable.
Corn removal
Enucleation of corns, removing the hard core that causes that sharp, stone-in-the-shoe pain.
Cracked heels
Treatment of dry, split skin and heel fissures, plus advice on keeping heels soft between visits.
Verruca treatment
Basic, non-invasive treatment of verrucae, with advice on care between visits.
Foot inspection & assessment
A thorough check of your feet, skin and nails at every visit, so small problems are spotted early.
At-risk foot monitoring
Regular checks for at-risk feet, such as with diabetes or poor circulation, using a Doppler, monofilament and tuning fork to check circulation and sensation.
Emollients & foot creams
Application of the right creams for your skin, and advice on which products to use at home.

Hello, I'm Jake Barry
I'm a Foot Health Practitioner registered with the Institute of Podiatrists, and I work within the scope of practice they set. I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate, so you can feel confident welcoming me into your home. I'm also studying for a two-year MSc in Podiatry, due to complete in July 2027, so my training is current and ongoing. Foot Therapy is a home visit service only, so you're treated somewhere comfortable and familiar. If I spot anything outside my scope, I'll recommend you see your GP or an HCPC-registered podiatrist.

What is a Foot Health Practitioner?
A trained professional who provides routine nail and skin care for the feet. For more complex conditions you'd see a podiatrist.
Is a Foot Health Practitioner the same as a chiropodist?
No. Chiropodist and podiatrist are protected titles for HCPC-registered professionals. I provide routine foot care, such as nail cutting, corns and hard skin, and I'll refer you to a podiatrist if you need more specialist treatment.
How much does a home visit cost?
£30 per visit, whatever treatment you need. There's no travel charge anywhere in the area I cover.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly. Just tell me about any medical conditions or medication when you book.
Do you have a clinic?
No. Foot Therapy offers home visits only, across Hastings, St Leonards, Bexhill, Battle, Rye and the villages within about 10 miles.
How long does a visit take?
Usually around 30–45 minutes. First appointments take a little longer.
What do I need for a home visit?
Just a comfortable chair and good light. I bring everything else, including sterile instruments.
What can't you treat?
Some conditions need a podiatrist or your GP. If I can't help, I'll tell you and point you to the right person.
